Makeup Monday: 3 Looks, 1 Palette

Makeup.  Some people see it as a tool of the patriarchy.  Some people see it as a tool to express themselves.  Some people use makeup to correct things about their face that make them uncomfortable.  Whatever your feelings about makeup, you can’t deny that it’s a fascinating world. I’m a bit of a makeup addict.  A makeup artist and hairstylist by trade, I love the transformations that makeup facilitates.

My biggest issue with makeup and the beauty industry in general is this: they keep producing more great stuff, and I want it all, and I love to wear it, but now I work from home and I don’t get to wear it, and it makes me sad, but I buy the next new palette because I love it and it goes untouched. *Whew*  Boy am I glad to get that off my chest.

So I thought I would use my talents (and massive makeup stash) for good.  A couple of times a month, I’m going to feature a different palette and show you a minimum of three separate looks you can accomplish with it.

For my first one, let’s take a look at Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance (My momma gifted me this palette for my birthday, thanks momma!!).  This was a hot ticket item for most of the summer into fall.  It would sell out in seconds and beauty vloggers were beyond obsessed with it.  I loved the Nikki Tutorials look.  She’s one of my favourite Youtube makeup artists.

So without further adieu, here are my 3 looks.  I will admit, I screwed up and only took one blurry pic for look one.  Sorry bout it.  I imagine I’ll get better at this as I go.

My first look, a daytime appropriate smokey eye.  Great for a casual brunch or even the office.  Looks polished but not over done.

My second look takes you from office to after work drinks.  Adding a little more depth and a pair of wispy lashes and you’re ready for a dinner date or a low-key G.N.O.

The third look is a full on Beat to Filth glam look.  Great for special occasions or just nights your want to be a full fledged Glamazon.
