Spied it, Tried it - The June Edition

It's been a while since I did my last product review.  My "To Review" List has gotten a wee bit out of hand.  So with out further adieu...

I was lucky enough to receive another tasty box of treats from M2 Brand Management.  I was pretty happy with the goodies from the last box. So I was thrilled to receive this latest one.

First up is this Evening Primrose Revitalizing body wash. Creamy, lightly scented and super gentle on my skin.  This body wash has been a god send a few times over the last for weeks as the shift in seasons has set my skin to angry mode.

Keeping with the theme, I've been trying out these Weleda Evening Primrose Day Cream and Night Cream.  If you've been following my spied it series you know that I have been searching for a good face system for 6 months.  Well, my patience has finally paid off! I am loving this product.  Hydrating enough for my tight cheeks/forehead but light enough for my oil drenched T-zone.  My one and only complaint, it is so thick and rich it takes about 10 mins to fully absorb into my face before I could apply my makeup.  Don't you dare over sleep!

Further on the Weleda train, I have the Arnica Massage Oil.  I was experiencing a lot of shoulder stiffness as I am still not used to working at a desk.  I slathered myself in this oil one night and I was surprised how much my shoulders relaxed.  I was able to get a good night's sleep and felt like a million bucks the next day.

Summer has been sporadically joined us in Toronto and boy oh boy was I caught without my sunscreen.  I gingerly washed my face and stared around my bathroom forlornly as I contemplated what I was going to put on my face that wouldn't hurt.  Then I remembered the Almond Soothing Lotion.  Gentle and nourishing and my face was back to my normal paper white tone by morning.

My body skin has always been a veritable desert.  For as long as I can remember the heaviest of creams has only momentarily success.  I have purchased every lotion and wash out there and I have never experienced silky smooth legs and arms.  I was very excited when I saw the Sea Buckthorn Creamy Wash.  Maybe this will be the magic potion? Nope.  At least it smells nice.

Did someone mention dry skin?  So I signed up for one of those free household samples packs expecting some free granola bars or something.  I had no idea I was about to meet my saviour.  I got a wee sample of the Jergens for Wet Skin.  I immediately passed it over as I picked the granola bars out.  Then one day, new tattoo itching like a dang, fresh out of the shower I thought I would give it a go.  MIND BLOWN! I finally have the skin I have longed for my entire life.

Y'all know I love my subscription boxes and the next to two items I got from my Ipsy bag and my Fabfitfun subscriptions.

First up, the Naked Cosmetics Banana Powder, that I received in my last Ipsy bag.  I love my KVD translucent powder but I am always looking for new, affordable options.  This powder is aces.  No flash back, no chalky finish, smooth milled particles...yup.. I like it.

One of the things I love about FabFitFun is that you get great products in full size.  Usually the cost of the whole box is less that the cost of one or two items. Witness exhibit A.  This Dr Brandt's Age Defying Microdermabrasion retails for $79USD and I got a full size bottle in my last box.  And boy am I glad I did because I love it and lovingly slather my face with it twice a week.  It just leaves my skin radiant and glowing.

Let's leave this 5 star train behind now because not all things are awesome.

Lets trot out the good and the bad and the ugly shall we?

The good: Kat Von D's Lock It 24 Hour Foundation.  The coverage is superb but the long wear aspect falls flat.  I've experienced more foundation separation with this foundation than any other.  So much so that it brings me to the bad...

The bad: Kat Von D's Lock It Primer.  This primer claims to do a lot of stuff and I don't think I've experienced any of it.  Pore minimizing?  Nope.  Creates long lasting wear? Nope.  It's hydrating but not like fantastic.  I feel like I was duped.

4 and 3 stars out of 5 respectfully

And finally the ugly: Better Than Sex Mascara by Too Faced Cosmetics.  WHY DO PEOPLE LOVE THIS MASCARA?!?! The brush is awkward to wield, the formula is flakey and it clumps like a sonnofa b.  I 10/10 cannot recommend.
