Spied it, Tried it - The March Edition

It's no surprise to anyone that I am makeup and skin care OBSESSED!  I regularly do GRWM (Get Ready With Me) videos on facebook live.  Most recently I did an Elle King inspired look:

I felt like a real, honest-to-goodness blogger when I received this box, chock full of goodies from M2 Brand Management to use and review.  So without further adieu...

The first product I grabbed out of this box was this Lafes Natural Deodorant.  I'm only slightly embarrassed to admit that I had run out of deodorant and wasn't in the mood to leave my house to buy more (the joys of working from home).  When I saw this I immediately applied it.  It's a pretty decent little deodorant.  I'm not crazy about the scent, as it's a little floral for my earthy tastes but it kept me smelling fresh!  As it's not an antiperspirant, and I am one helluva Sweaty Betty, my constantly damp underarms took some getting used to.  By the time I was using this for 2 weeks, I had noticed a marked decrease in how much I was sweating.  I am definitely interested in purchasing this item, just in a different scent.  4 / 5 stars.

Next up were these adorable travel pods of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.  I loved that they came in cardboard lined pods (think juice boxes).  I'd never heard of this Acure brand before but I sure am glad I know about it now!  I can't gush about this Energizing Body Wash enough.  My notorious crocodile skin was glowing and soft after using this just once.  I was legitimately sad when I finished my little pod.  The Hydrating Shampoo was a great cleanser but I only used it once (Sorry!!) because Colour Safe isn't one of it's attributes and my baby pink tresses leak colour at an already alarming rate.  The Hydrating Conditioner is absolutely lovely and far to heavy for my baby hairs. I'm already a high oil producer and day two hair definitely looked like day 4 hair.  If your hair is dry though....Ooooh this would be delicious on dry or coarse hair. 3/5

Remember the serums I was fretting over in the last Spied it, Tried it?  Well now I've swung in the opposite direction.  I feel like I am in skin purgatory.  The Acure Moroccan Argan Oil Treatment  as a face serum is far to heavy for my weird skin.  If I keep it just to my cheeks it's great but my T-zone hates it.  I'm graduating it to a post bath body oil (delish!) but it's definitely not for my face, neck, décolletage. The hunt continues. 3/5

The next product that I pulled out of my wee treasure trove was the Weleda Jardin de Vie Grenade perfume.  I was not looking forward to trying it.  I have 2 signature scents that I have been wearing for ages.  I've been wearing YSL Opium since high school and I added YSL Manifesto to my collection 5 years ago.  I didn't want to wear a new scent.  Welp! I ate those words.  This perfume is so delicately scented that I found myself throwing it in my bag to take with me for mid day touch ups.  Its the perfect mix of sweet and spicy.  I find myself reaching for it more than my signature scents now.  It just worked it's way into my routine effortlessly.  And the bottle is gorgeous! 5/5 stars

I've recently suffered a great loss.  My favourite nail salon has closed.  On their last day of business, in a show of solidatiry, I had them remove my artificial nails.  Heart, broken.  Anyone who's ever had artificial nails knows that they are a double sided blade.  Your nails look amazing but once you remove them....disaster.  So I was thrilled to get this Weleda Nail Care Pen, pumped full of delicious oils and butters.  I have been using it for about 3 weeks now and I can't sing it's praises enough.  I mean, my nails are still trashed but they look great!  On the right was before my first application, the one on the left is after 1 week.  My nails will need to be kept short and polish free for a while but they look hydrated and I am mostly hangnail free!  5/5 Stars

I'm a constant lip chewer.  Have been for as long as I can remember.  It is a terrible habit that I can't seem to break myself of.  Because of the chewing, I am constantly applying lip balms and moisturizers and exfoliators.  Nothing has ever really worked.  My HG was the old school Bert's Bees in original mint but since their buyout in 2012, it's just not the same.  Cue the Green Beaver Company Honey Lip Balm.  It's not a perfect replacement but BOY HOWDY is it a good option.  The honey flavour is almost undetectable (yay!) and it's light formula makes it a great under lip colour option.  I'd prefer a slightly thicker application but the slick it provides when I rub my lips together is lovely. 4.5/5 stars.

Many of you who know me in real life know my love of all things Lush.  When I went to an event in January, I received a swag bag holding a pot of Karma Kream.  I think I've used every product at Lush except this one.  It is awful!  I was so surprised!  Normally Lush is bang on but ooof this one sucks.  It doesn't absorb nicely, the scent is awful and cloying and it leaves a weird oily residue.  I'm over it. 1/5 stars

Ok kittens....hang on to your hats!  This last review is going to blow your mind wide open.  I was lucky enough to win a lippie from my friend Vicky of Forever Lips By Vicky.  She came over to hang out and deliver my Fly Girl LipSense and Glossy Gloss.  It it pure witchcraft.  My first application lasted 22 HOURS!!!! Yes you read that right.  Even after the 22 hours the thing that made it waver was a breakfast sandwich from McDonalds.  I've had this lippie last through pints and wings and ribs. WINGS AND RIBS! It's pure witchcraft.  In fact, you need an old priest and a young priest to get it off.  I promptly ordered 2 more colours and the matte gloss.

I mean.... COME ON!

And like everyone else on the internet who has this product, here's a video of me applying it (colour is First Love):

WITCHCRAFT! 10 magical stars out of 5!

There you have it folx! My the March Edition of Spied it, Tried it.  Let me know what you think or if you have any other products you'd like to see me review.
