Swapperella

One of my favourite thrifty sources for wardrobe updates is a good ol fashioned swap.  I’m lucky to be a member of the Curvy Bunz Trading Group.  I’ve made several really great friends from this group, gotten some of my favourite wardrobe staples from here and the love in this community for the other members is top notch.

A few times a year the Moderators of the group plan and host clothing swaps. A PWYC event with proceeds and left over clothing items being donated to charity.  It’s a great afternoon and I’ve yet to see people get grabby.  I’ve been to a clothing swap where as I walked into the event my bag of offerings was ripped out of my hands by an acquaintance.  She’d been waiting for me to arrive because she “knew I had great stuff”.  The Folx with Curvy Bunz have a great system in place to ensure that swappables get out to the floor fast and that everyone feels comfortable and that they are in a body positive space.

I managed to hit up 2 swaps, 2 weekends in a row.  I was thrilled!!  I held on to my goods so that I could do both haul posts in one blog.  I can’t wait to show you the goodies I got.

I think my most prized swap find is this cheeky sweat shirt from Flaws of Couture. I love a cheeky statement piece.

These painter pants are a joy to wear because they give me something to do with my hands!

This leopard and fringe shrug was snatched right off the table at the Curvy Swap.  It just speaks to my soul. LEOPARD AND FRINGE.  I almost feel like I should post a video of me "fringe dancing".

I am a sucker for jogger pants (sometimes known as harem pants *shudder*) and I managed to get 2 pairs from the curvy swap.  They make me feel like I put effort into my “work-from-home” ensemble.  I already had too pairs of plain coloured ones and now I have these fun print ones!  The Addition Elle ones are a tad big in the waist, but I can fix that.

I nabbed a couple of work shirts (like office wear I guess) because I like to look profesh when I go to events as Miss Fuller Woman Canada.  I’d also like to feature a few more polished looks on my blog going forward.  Work wear doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

Throw in a cutie skirt and I can say that my haul is pretty well rounded.

Look at how cute we all are!

That brings me to a couple of announcements!

On March 25, join Treat Yourself With Love for A Day of Curves.  Reserve your selling rack now.  I went to an event like this last year and nabbed some seriously cute items.  Make some cash, score some deals and hang with yours truly!

The Next Curvy Bunz Swap is May 7.  It will follow the usual formula, PWYC, hosted by the lovely Curvy Bunz Admins and held at the 519.  I'll update with more information as it comes available.  You can sign up to join Curvy Bunz Here

What's the best item you've ever scored for cheap or free?

Lastly, I'm proud to announce: This is Your Dance Space.  A dance party for bodacious babes.  With DJ Kaleb pumpin' the beats, come boogie down in a shame free environment. Performance by special guest Ivory!
