Workin' on my Fitness

Pre ankle break, I was a very busy individual.  I never went to the gym but I hustled at the salon 40 hours a week and I was often out running around the city on my days off.  I rarely had “a lazy day”. I detested going to the gym unless it was to swim. I just lead an active life and that was great. I was fit enough to win the title “Miss Fitness” at the Miss Fuller Woman Pageant. Post ankle break, I settled into a life of complete sedentary.  I sat for my job for 40 hours a week and then sat to chill out after work.  My hard won strength and endurance slowly slipped away. This...

Did You Miss Me?

Hello friends, It's me, your long lost Blogger Pal and Beauty Queen.  You may have noticed that I've been pretty silent for the last 5 months.  I feel like I owe you an explanation for my sudden departure. This post is gonna get heavy real quick. I've been struggling with some mental health issues for a while now.  I was frantically treading to keep my head above water for the last few years, if I'm completely honest. Behind the Scenes with Thigh Society

About a month ago you may recall how excited I was that I met Marnie, the Maven behind Thigh Society (the anti-chafing garment).  Her garment has positively impacted not only my life but the lives of many women I know.  She’s a real life super hero! Not long after our meet cute, I received an email from Marnie, inviting me to participate in an upcoming shoot featuring her garments.  I cheerfully and excitedly accepted!  I love the garment and I’m just vain enough to say I love getting my photo taken so I was definitely in! I woke up with the birds for my 9:30am call time last Thursday.  It was rainy and windy and wet and awful.  I was...

New Year's Revolution!

For any of you who know me in real life, you know what I think of New Year’s Resolutions.                via GIPHY   There doesn’t have to be this pressure, to make huge changes for the sake of change.  I prefer to make New Year’s Revolutions!  I vow to do what ever I can to live my authentic self (as basic as that sounds) and to love myself unabashedly and unconditionally.  In a world where we are told to hate ourselves and change constantly, this act of self love is a revolution! I know those are someone else’s words (if you know who please let me know), but the first time I read them...

Tis the Season!

December is such a busy month for everyone: parties, shopping, baking, cooking, decorating. While I’m not christian, my husband and I definitely celebrate a secular holiday filled with friends, food and presents. My favourite part of the holidays is the excuse to dress festive for no reason other than it’s the season to!  Sequins, glitter, feathers, fur (faux or otherwise), and rich velvets and wools are my fashion favourites!  I live for taffeta and satin and there’s no such thing as too much crinoline. As a little holiday splurge, I treated myself to a photo session with Rebecca of Rebecca Northcott Photography.  I put together a sophisticated, festive ensemble and gently inched my way onto her set in a pair...
