Spied it, Tried it - The Nerd Edition

My good friend Brandy was kind enough to gift me with a giant bag of bath time beauties from her fledgling company The Femme Fandom Fix.  I'm a huge believer that baths and quality bath products are fundamental to self care.  I have three, ride-or-die, fandoms: Star Wars, Harry Potter, and via my husband, Green Lantern.  Brandy hit all the bases with her grab bag of goodies. From the Wizarding Collection: My first foray into the Femme Fandom Fix world was the Hufflepuff Bath Bomb.  It's delicious Cinnamon Bun scent sent me to the moon.  While I love bath bombs I usually avoid them because they are extremely drying on my skin.  This is a bomb of a different design!...

Women Getting Shit Done - Brandy Dawley of Femme Fandom Fix

Picture it: Toronto, FanExpo, 2009.  I was one of the newest Pinups on the Nerd Girls Pinups roster and we had a booth at Fan Expo.  I rushed over to the convention centre after work and was seated behind the table next to two women who I'm happy to say I have been friends with ever since.  The gorgeous lady to my left was Brandy Dawley (Anna was on my right.  Hi Anna!!!).  Brandy is beautiful, clever, funny and I love having her in my life. I finally pulled it out for this little quick shoot and I am dying to wear it again.  It is perfection.  It was worth the wait <3     Crop top and skirt: Tatyana Necklace: Aldo Bracelet: Damzels Shoes: Thrifted...

You are Wild because You are Me

I was lucky enough to borrow this beautifully appointed costume from the genius that is Wolf, Crown, & Alchemy.  Trixi, the designer, makes one of a kind headpieces and costumes for local and international customers.  Her pieces have graced the heads of brides, burlesque dancers and Burning Man attendees.   When I got my hands on this ethereal piece, I knew that I couldn't shoot just anywhere.  Luckily I crossed paths with photographer Louise Jardine, and she knew just the place. Spied It, Tried It - The August Edition

Hello my little Chicken-Livers!  It's me again, your friendly neighbourhood Beauty Queen here to deliver some real talk about some beauty and lifestyle products. As always, many of these products are purchased by yours truly but I have also been lucky enough to receive a big box of goodies from MSquared Branding.  Their generosity is some humbling and I am very grateful for it.  Thanks lovelies! xxoo So without further adieu, let's hit it! First up is the North American Hemp Co. "Soak it up" Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner.  Full disclosure, I have bleached hair.  I know, I know, you all thought my candy- floss tresses were natural but dear readers, they are in fact, chemically enhanced.  I use some heavy...
